Camps, Contests, and Workshops
Why is it important, as a musician to go to camp? It gets you around
other players on a daily basis and gives you a taste of what it's like
to play with the best players in the world. Most of all, you can watch
them make their sounds...everyday. It is glorious fun, too. Do you feel
like your child is too young to attend camp? That is okay, because many
of these camps are designed as a family experience, with classes for
non-musicians and hiking and other camping fun. Some have themed art
classes for younger siblings, such as, during Scottish week you might
learn to create Celtic design and learn a little Gaelic language.
I have attended some camps and I would be glad to discuss my experience
with you. It will make you a better musician that much faster and a
whole lot of fun at the same time.
